Our Daily Bread Food Bank

The official name is "Our Daily Bread." We are a nonprofit organization serving food assistance programs for families and children in the Lake Whitney area, including Aquilla, Blum, and Whitney.

A nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of people in the Lake Whitney area.

Each month we serve 300 families with almost 700 family members by providing over 14,000 pounds of food. Help us serve the people who live in our community - children, the elderly, and low-income families - by donating food items or by making a financial donation.

100% of your donation goes directly to providing food for local residents. All staff are unpaid volunteers.

Many people in the local community help by volunteering their time directly at the Whitney Food Bank. Others help in different ways by organizing community events or using a particular talent of theirs to help the food bank.

If you would like us to speak to your organization about all that the food bank does to help in the community, we'd be glad to give a presentation. Contact us to schedule this.

The Aquilla Third Graders collected the most food in November for Our Daily Bread Food Drive. By winning the district competition they were treated to lunch at Pizza Junction and then a tour of the Whitney Food Bank. While learning how their donations are used to serve the people in Whitney, Aquilla and Blum they also got to stock some of the shelves. The students were accompanied by Dr. David Edison, Superintendent, Stacy Brisco. 3rd Grade Teacher and Tarana Hester, Administrative Assistant. Volunteers Xandra Hogan, Linda Yeary and Jim Wolfkill provided the tour.
